SUMMARY:Project Floridablanca
DESCRIPTION:How has everyone been doing? It’s been two months since we last had our Color Your Life Project in Luna\, La Union. The group is now planning to conduct its second leg in Pampanga. \nFloridablanca\, Pampanga\nLast year\, one of our core members went on fieldwork in Sitio Camachile\, Brgy. Nabuklod\, Floridablanca\, Pampanga. During the fieldwork\, she met a community of Aetas\, one of the indigenous groups in the Philippines. Then\, she met the eldest member of the community\, Tata Parham\, who was then 110 years old. He’s probably 111 now. \nThe Aeta has been living in the community all his life. He has memories of the Spanish\, American\, and the [brief] Japanese colonial periods. When Mount Pinatubo erupted\, their fields and crops were buried in lahar and they were briefly evacuated to another community. \nAs she talked with the eldest\, she also took note that there were a lot of children loitering even when it was a school day. On the way\, she noticed that the closest school to the community was probably a 20 to 30-minute walk away. Their means of living and main livelihood seem to be dependent on their crops\, livestock\, and poultry. \nFrom that experience\, our team swore that she would come back to visit the Aeta children. Now\, after a year\, with the team of the Color Your Life Project\, she will be conducting coloring activities and distributing coloring kits to the Aeta children she had interacted with. \nBe Part of Our Project!\nBe one with the Crayons’ advocacy in coloring the lives of children. We are in need of volunteers to join us to facilitate the activities. We also gladly accept donations and monetary support. Contact us at 09171506002/09173047551 or send us an email at coloryourlifeproject@gmail.com. \nSee you on October 23\, 2017\, 1 pm\, at Sitio Camachile\, Barangay Nabuklod\, Floridablanca\, Pampanga!

SUMMARY:Project Luna
DESCRIPTION:The team is overjoyed to facilitate the Color Your Life project in Barangay Napaset\, Luna\, La Union. This will be our first ever activity to be held on August 12\, 2017\, Saturday\, at 2 PM at Napaset Barangay Hall. As travelers by heart\, we chose La Union because it is one of the destinations that features fine beaches in the country\, particularly in Nalvo Sur and Darigayos\, and is considered a food hub of the North\, showcasing local delicacies the province offers.  Specifically\, Barangay Napaset is also the hometown of Louie who is one of our core members. Through this project\, she can give back to the community that is very near and dear to her heart. \nKnow More About Luna\, La Union\nLuna\, a third-class municipality located in La Union\, was once called Namacpacan\, an Ilocano word meaning “the one who feeds”.  It was actually considered a stop-over location for travelers going to Ilocos Region. Way back then\, the local community offered them food and lodging because there were only a few restaurants. Since the People of Luna are indeed hospitable\, we would also like to return the kindness that the community gives to its visitors. \nColor Your Life Project in Luna\, La Union\nThe Color Your Life Project is our way to give an alternative art experience to the children of Napaset so they can exercise\, as well as enrich their artistic talents. Moreover\, we hope that the Color Your Life – “Project Luna\,” as our pioneer project\, will leave memories to the Napaset community and the kids who we will be teaching. This is just the beginning of our journey to help in the littlest way we can\, of course\, through the Arts. We hope that we can create a much bigger activity with participants from fifty kids to a hundred or even more. \nWe encourage young travelers to join us in our next adventure. We genuinely believe that traveling is not just for individual happiness and satisfaction\, but indeed a quest to be social tools that can somewhat help and change the community they visit. \nContact Us!\nFor more details about the Color Your Life Project\, you may reach the team through these contact details: coloryourlifeproject@gmail.com\, 0917-3047551 / 0917-1506002\, or visit coloryourlife.theoutcastjourney.com.  You can also like our Facebook page at www.facebook.com/coloryourlifeproject.
